Surprise! Free Knit Dishcloth Pattern

Finished Dimensions: approx. 8" x 8" (20cm x 20cm)

Materials:
Yarn: 1.5 oz., 60 yards (43g, 55m) 100% cotton, Worsted weight 4-ply (or 10-ply for UK, NZ, AU)
Suggested brands:
· Lily Sugar 'n Cream
· Walmart Peaches & Creme
· Bernat Handicrafter DeLux
· Any worsted weight 100% cotton
Needles:
· U.S. - Size 8
· UK / Canada - Size 6
· Metric - Size 5.0mm
Definitions / Abbreviations:
- k = knit (Example - “k3” means to knit 3 stitches)
- p = purl (Example - “p5” means to purl 5 stitches)
- sl1p = Slip 1st st. purlwise with yarn at back
Pebbles Knit Dishcloth Pattern:
Cast on 39 stitches, leaving at least 6 inches [15cm] of yarn to be woven in when done.
Row 1: sl1p, k37, p1
Row 2: sl1p, k37, p1
Row 3: sl1p, *k1, p1; rep from * to end
Row 4: sl1p, *p1, k1; rep from * to last 2 sts, p2
Repeat Rows 1 – 4 twice more
Row 13: sl1p, k37, p1
Row 14: sl1p, k37, p1
Rows 15 – 44 (30 rows, all the same): sl1p, *k1, p1; rep from * to end
Row 45: sl1p, k37, p1
Row 46: sl1p, k37, p1
Row 47: sl1p, *k1, p1; rep from * to end
Row 48: sl1p, *p1, k1; rep from * to last 2 sts, p2
Repeat Rows 45 – 48 twice more
Row 57: sl1p, k37, p1
Row 58: sl1p, k37, p1
Bind off
Finishing:
Cut yarn end to at least 6 inches [15cm] length and pull through last loop.
Using a crochet hook or tapestry needle, weave in the loose ends.
